Party Wall Matters

  • Commercial leases require Tenants to either remedy defects and issues of disrepair or to pay for the works when vacating leased premises.  We negotiate dilapidations settlements and advise Landlords and Tenants on dilapidation matters.


  • Commercial clients undertaking building works that fall under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 will need to comply with the duties set out within the regulations.  J G Hughes & Associates can undertake the role of the CDM-Coordinator and advise you of your duties and obligations.

Asset Management 

  • Whether you own or manage one property or have a substantial portfolio, your property is a valuable asset.  J G Hughes & Associates are able to provide you with a report detailing the existing condition of the building’s fabric, structure, decorations, electrical and heating systems.  We are then able to predict the remaining lifespan of each element to form a planned maintenance programme, allocating works as either desirable or essential maintenance, together with budget costs. These works can then be prioritised, creating annual programmes of work for year one all the way through to the next 20 or 30 years.

DDA Assessments 

  • Whether you are an employer or offer a service to the public, you have legal responsibilities under the Disabled Discrimination Act to make your property accessible to all members of the community. J G Hughes & Associates can assess your current provisions and recommend measures to make your property “inclusive”.

Property Disputes
